About me…

Hello! I'm Heather. I'm from the small town of Centerville, Indiana. I live northwest of Indy with my husband and two daughters. I enjoy hanging with my little babes and going to concerts with my husband.

In addition to photography, I work part time as a nurse practitioner and love meeting new people. You'll see a lot of families and little ones in my work.
21 VINES is named after my daughter, Ivy, who has an extra copy of the 21st chromosome. She inspired me to start my business and The Lucky Mama Project, a program with Down syndrome Indiana that supports new moms. You will see lots of photos of Ivy as well as many other kids with Down syndrome in my galleries. I really enjoy showing the world how beautiful and amazing our kids are through photos.

I've always loved photography, but my passion has really resurfaced now that I have two beautiful daughters to photograph. They are my inspiration for turning my hobby into something more. My daughter Lilah comes to many sessions and takes her own photos. I secretly hope they both find a love for photography and one day we will all do this together!

Studio on the Alley

I have a studio in the heart of the village of Zionsville. There is an entire wall of glass that allows for beautiful natural light!

FAQs

  • FUN! My main goal for the session is for everyone to feel comfortable. I'm there to capture more than just an image. I encourage kids to play and parents to interact with and love on their children. If you are one of those people that feel awkward at sessions, no worries! I've got you! My style is both candid and posed. I know how to pose your family to get the images you want. My most popular session is the Mini. It's 30 minutes long, tolerable for little ones and the dads! I have a few favorite spots I like to shoot at in Zionsville. I know these locations well and will choose the session time that will allow for the best lighting.

  • I encourage neutral colors. Some of my favorite shades are navy, blues, dark reds, maroon, greens, different shades of brown, you get the picture. Avoid neon colors or large busy patterns. I advise families to coordinate their outfits, rather than focusing on matching. If you are wearing colors that compliment each other, your photos will look great! Layering and mixing patterns such as plaids, denim and solids looks nice too. My clients have access to a StyleandSelect.com, a FREE styling service!!

  • How will the images be delivered? How long will it take?
Images will be delivered in an online gallery after editing. This can take anywhere from 1-4 weeks depending on the season. I will typically post a preview on social media within a few days of the session.
